Calculating indirect taxes (e.g., sales tax, VAT) accurately and rapidly is essential for many businesses, especially in e-commerce or scenarios with complex tax regulations. This API provides a scalable and lightning-fast solution for indirect tax determination.

Tech Stack

  • C# (.NET): Provides a robust and performant framework for building web APIs.
  • MSSQL: Stores tax rules, rates, and potentially transaction data for efficient retrieval.

Challenges

The primary challenge lay in achieving the extremely low response times required for a high-performance tax determination API. This demanded meticulous optimization throughout the codebase, with a particular focus on caching strategies.
